FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL MATCHES.

The final games in the Ellesmere schools basketball competition resulted: Doyleston 4, Lakeside 4; Dunsandel 7, Brooksidc 4; Leeston 9, Killinchy 0; Doyleston 0, Southbridge 8. The points gained by the various teams are as follows.—Leeston 11, Doyleston 9, Lakeside 8, Southbridge 6, Dunsandel 6, Brookside 2, KilHnohy 0. Arrangements are now being made for Leeston to play a final game against the winning team in the schools competition on the Springs side of the Selwyn river. A football match between the Leeston School team and a side representing the Irwell-Brookside-Doyleston Schools was won by Leeston by 9 points to 3. The final game for the season is to be played between 4hts Irwell-Brookside-Doyleston team and the Tai Tapu School team.
