LINWOOD AVENUE SCHOOL.

At the monthly meeting of the Linwood Avenue School Committee there were present: Messrs W. Biel (in the chair), E. D. Brown (treasurer), M. E. Bugg. H. Butterfield, F. S. Gimblett, W. Jones, H. J. Petrie, J. B. Ives (secretary 3, and G. N. Ormandy (headmaster). Permission was granted the East Linwood and Woolston Progressive Association to use a room for a public meeting to endeavour to raise funds for establishing a children's playground in Linwood Park. The Dental Clinic Committee reported that over £9 had been contributed by parents whose children had received dental treatment. The dental superintendent advised that children reaching five years of age were eligible for treatment. The headmaster reported that school attendance was excellent, the percentage being 96.7. The bantam football team won their competition, winning all the eleven games played. It was decided to have the team photographed and to present a copy to each player, also to congratulate the coach, Mr G. Head. 'Throe boys of the school, E. Jones, E. Warren, and L. Hewitt, were selected to play in the primary schools representative team. Messrs M. E. Bugg and T. Nuttall were appointed visitors for the month.
