(SPECIAL TO THE) PEESS.j GEEYMOUTH, June 15. The Rev. H. J. Knights (Hokitika), left yesterday on a visit to Christchurch. Mrs W. Keller and Miss Sheila Keller (Hokitika), who have been spending a holiday in Wellington, returned yesterday. Mrs W. J. Butler (Hokitika) left yesterday on a visit to Christchurch. Mr H. Vickerman, consulting engineer to tlie Grey Power Board, arrived yesterday from Wellington. Mr C. Fraser, president of the. Greymouth Port Waterside Workers' Union, who has been attending a conference in Wellington, returned yesterday.

Mr 11. Tripner, secretary to Messrs Butler Bros., Ltd., Ruatapu, left yesterday for Christchurch. Miss Isa Baxter left yesterday for Tauranga.

Mrs E. Moriarty and Miss R. Simmonds left yesterday on holiday to Christchurch. Mr G. Allison, train running officer at Greymouth, left yesterday on holiday to Christchurch. Mr John Byall (Barrytown) has been returned unopposed as a member of the Westland Land Board. Miss N. Scott, who has been visiting relatives in Greymouth, returned yesterday to Wellington. Wedding. The wedding took place yesterday at Holy Trinity Church, Greymouth, Archdeacon J. A. Jermyn officiating, of Eileen Mavis, only daughter of Mr F. and the late Mrs Baldwin, and Eobert James, son of Mrs and tho late Mr Ware, of Blackball. The bride was attended by Miss Pearl Simons, and Mr A. Baldwin, brother of the bride, was best man. Mr and Mrs Ware left later by express for Christchurch. Obituary. The death occurred yesterday at Keefton Hospital of Mr Edward McCaffrey, aged. 31 years. Mr McCaffrey was a native of the lieefton district and is survived by iiis widow and two children. Otira Tunnel. The amount of freight railed through tho Otira tunnel last week was 8180 tons, compared with 14,729 tons for the corresponding period in 1931, and 12,797 tons in 1930. School Committee. The Hokitika District High School Committee met on Monday evening, the chairman, Mr A. C. Armstrong, ingThe Education Board wrote that its overseer was reporting on several matters at the school which required attention. Nurse James reported that during the month there had been 442 operations for 87 attendances at tho dental clinic. Pupils came from Woodstock, Kaihinu, and Hokitika Convent. It was reported that the expense of running the dental clinic for the -year was £64 2s Bd, and the receipts £2O 2s 6d, leaving a sum of £44 to bo found by the Hokitika Committee. The amount was divided between the schools participating as follows tika Convent £B, Humphreys £2, Kanieri £3 10s, Woodstock £5. Kaihinu was left for the committee to arrange.
