THE WEATHER. ■Meteorological observations taken at tlie Magnetic Observatory, CLvistchuvch, at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.' on June 15th:— »

Auckland—A light variable wind and showery threatening weather prevailed yesterday. After falling to the barometer remained stationary. "Wellington—The weather yesterday was beautifully fine and susny. A very light breeze was blowing from the north. Dunodin—Fine weather prevailed yesterday with more cloud than sunshine, and a cold wind from the. north-ea6t. The maximum temperature was 46 degrees. The barometer fell 'to 29.60. • Forecast. General Situation —A feeble anti-cyclone has been located to-day off the East Coast, between East Cajft and Akaroa. Barometers are low both east and west of New Zealand, and an intense and extensive westerly lowpressuro area covers eastern Australia.

Winds —Moderate and variable at first, but later northerly to westerly prevailing and freshening. Seas (New Zealand -waters) —Smooth to moderate, but rising on the West Coast and ) about Cook and Foveaux. Straits. I Eastern Tasmau Sea—North to west winds, becoming strong with rough seas.
