HARRIERS.

BAPTIST CLUB. On Saturday the Baptist harriers held tbeir annual steeplechase at the Kiccarton racecourse. The course, as nearly as poasible, was the same as that over which the Kennett Cup race will be held in a fortnight's time. In spite of a very keen biting wind that faced the competitors at the start of the race, very fine performances were put upby A. D. Park and L. C. Fulford, with fastest and second fastest times respectively. Milner ran on excollent race to win in the splendid time of 19min lOsec, and Bissett, a sixteen-year-old runner, ran second with the excellent time of 19min 30scc. Miles (3min lOsec), 24min losec .. 12 COMBINED RUN. The Methodist Harrier Club were the guests of the Presbyterian Club on Saturday afternoon, and the run was held from tit. David's Presbyterian Church, Colombo street south. The trail led by C. Mcllroy and J. D. Keay (Presbyterians) led through Spreydon and Halswell, and home via Cashmere Hills, a distance of approximately six miles. Eighteen Methodist and 30 Presbyterians participated. The Presbyterian men competing in the Kennett Cup race held a trial run at the Riccarton racecourse. The' results of the run-ins at St. David's were: Slow Pack—E. Comber (Presbyterian). 1, D. Egbinson (Presbyterian) t, A. T. Green (Presbyterian) 3 Intermediate Pack—K. Robinson (Presbyterian) 1, L. Poison (Presbyterian) 2, S. Muff (Presbyterian) 3. Fast Pack—C. S. Ell, R. Smith, and N. P. Alcorn, all Methodist Club men, tied for first place. On behalf of the -visitors, Mr C. S. Ell returned thanks to the young women of the church and to the Presbyterian Club for the successful run. Mr M. R. Robinson responded. The next run will be held from the residence of Mr George Smith, 95 Idris road, Ferdalton. CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. The Christchurch Harrier Club members were invited to the residence of Mr and Mrs D. Kane, Peraki street, Kaiapoi, on Saturday afternoon. Thirty runners followed the trail laid by H. Howarth and F. Clapshaw, over ideal country, a distance of about seven miles. The results of the runins were: Slow Pack—A. H. Candy 1, B. A. Barrer 2 J. D. Pascoe 3. Intermediate Pack—T. Willielm 1, R. M. Kicher 2, J. McDonald 3. Fast Pack—R. M. Barrer 1, L. C. Richards 2, H. S. Bowden 3. Mr E. A. Sayers returned thanks to Mr i'nd Mrs Kane for their hospitality, and Mr Kane responded. Next Saturday a trial run will be held at the Riccarton racecourse over the Kenriett Cup course. ANGLICAN CLUB. The Anglican Harrier Club held its annual steeplechase over a three and a half mile course at the Riccarton racecourse, the facilities of which were made available by the generosity of the committee of the Canterbury Jockey Club.
