Kufford Abbey, near Worksop, m the famous Dukeries district of Nottingham is to be closed. This step is believed to be due to heavy taxation and death duties. During the residence of the late Lord Savile at the abbey he entertained the late King Edward there seven years in succession. Rufford Abbey is only occasionally used by the family of Lord Bavile. It was stated a year ago, that in order to meet heavy death duties the trustees of the late Lord Savile, who died in April, 1931, were being compelled to sell part of his estate at Elland, Yorkshire.
