The Prime Minister,/ Air Ramsay Mac Donald, has emphatically repudiated a document, which is stated to l:ave been in cii'culation in financial circles in Europe'and America and professes to record a conversation with him by an anonymous correspondent. The statement was attributed to him that the Government would in no circumstances consider the stabilisation of the £ for some time, and that it was unlikely that England would ever return to the gold standard. "There is not a word of truth in it. , Tlie whole thing is an invention," said Mr. MacDonald, when he was shown the document. "The opinions attributed.to me have not even the shadow of a likeness to the opinions I hold."
