AUCKLAND GRAIN MARKET. TTHE PRESS Special SeTvice.] AUCKLAND, December 22. Fowl wheat is very firm, and local rates, have been raised to 6s lOd per bushel, ex store. There is no change to report in local values for maize, but the Gisborne market seems a little easier. A line -was offered from Gisbcrne lately a? 4s 3d per bushel, f.o.b. Barley js still being sold at low prices, but stocks are getting low, and the latest purchases from Australia will show higher landed costs. There are plentiful supplies of potatoes from Pukekohe- and suburban districts, which are selling at 8s 6d per cw t. Californian and Oanadian onions are now practically off the market, their place being taken by Victorian, of which the Kartigi landed a good cargo yesterday. Tliese opened up in capital condition, and the bulk waß quickly cleared at about 14b per cwt, ex wharf. Limited quantities of locals are also being offered through the auction marts and retail stores. Pollard, chiefly Australian, is still selling freely, with quotations unchanged. Bran has a dull sale. -
