Bank closings during the week-end included three more New England institutions and the Standard Trust Bank of Cleveland. The last-named is the first banking venture by organised Labour forced to liquidate its assets, which in 1930 exceeded 22,000,000. dollars. It wag founded in 1920 by the llnilway Brotherhoods. The 21 closed Now England banks had .total deposits of 96,363,000 dollars. [A New York message dated December 17th reported: Eleven national bank 3 and trust companies with deposits aggregating 61,701,000 dollars hove closed their doors within tho past three days, making tho total failures of New England banks 18 since October Ist. The Arlington Trust Company, with deposits of 6,000,000 dollars, closed late this afternoon, making the 18th.]
