Which portion of the Pacific may ■justly lay claim to use the phrase, "Paradise of the Pacific!" This question 'was discussed at a meeting at Auckland of the New Zealand Tourist' League, when the chairman, Mr G. M. Fowlds, stated that he noticed that the Government Publicity Office was using the phrase in its publicity matter, in spite of an objection by the Hawaiian Tourist Bureau, which claimed that it had used the phrase for the last 20 years. Members of League expressed the opinion that it should be possible to originate a suitable advertising slogan for New Zealand's use, and that the claims of ilaTyaii should be respected. Mr G. Finn said the New Zealand manufacturers had tried for some years, and had spent money in prize-giving competitions, to secure the adoption of a New Zealand commercial emblem, but without success. It was decided'that the Government should be asked to consider inviting suggestions for a suitable slogan for use in publicity work. LUXURY FOR CAMPERS.
