H was announced at the annual •nf.ptinf of the Canterbury Pilgrims Association, held last night, that the Blst anniversary of the founding if the Province of Canterbury would bo celebrated on Saturday, December 12th, bv a garden party at 2.30 p.m. at "Elmwood," kindly lent by bir Jy Heaton Rhodes. The customary Anniversary Day servico in'the Catnecirai would be hold at. 11 a.m. on Sunday, and there would be Anniversary J.)ay services at Holy Trinity Church, L>ttelton, at 11 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. In accordance with notice given, Cr. A. 13. Armstrong moved at last night s meeting of the City Council, '"That it be an instruction to the Electricity Department to uso the locally-manu-factured electric range for cooking demonstrations' alternately with the Canadian range, which is at present used exclusively in the demonstrating room." Cr. Armstrong said that up to the present the New Zealand range had not been used in the demonstration room, and that in consequence was not being siren lair treatment.
