THE WEATHER. observations taken at the Magnetic Observatory, at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. ou December 7th:
Winds —Moderate to strong Boutherly, gale force, in the far north, later veering to westerly in the south. Seas (New Zealand -waters) —Heavy north of East Cape, elsewhere rather rough. Eastern Tasman Sea—Moderate to st*ms south-west winds, veering to westerly in the southern portion; seas rough. Weather—Cool and changeable, with scattered showers in most -districts, liut some heavy fails to-nisht in the northern portion of the North Island; a temporary improvement is probablo to-morrow in most parts.

Auckland—A light, variable wind iind wet weather prevailed yesterday morning, but conditions were fine'during the afternoon and •evening. After falling to 29.65 at midday, the barometer commenced to rise. Wellington—The leather was fine yesterday, although - there was a considerable fall of during the night. There was a light wind from, the eouth. The evening was father cool. Dunedin—The weather was sunny and jleasant yesterday, and a moderate breeze from the south was blowing. The barometer was! rising and registered 29.80 last night. Forecast. General Situation—A cyclone mo"ved on to the Dominion on Sunday night,, hut its centra has ftassed northwards, and is located to-day near Cape Maria. Another cyclone has developed east of Tasmania, while a weak anticyclone is situated on the north-"west Tasman Sea.
