Two questions of law arising out of the trial of George Errol Coats, who was found guilty, of the murder' of Phillis Avis Symons. and. sentenced to death on November 11th, will be argued before the Court of Appeal tomorrow. The Court will be asked to decide: — . (1) Whether the statement of prisoner dated Julv 6th, 1931, was properly admitted in the evidence, at the Whether the learned trial judge (Mr Justice Blair) wrongly directed the jury in warning: them that the life of the prisoner was not necessarily forfeit if the jury convicted liuu of murder. , . It is expected that argument will occupy at least all day to-morrow.
