LYTTELTON NEWS.

—_ STUDENT INJURED. Xoclinc Knowles, one of'the School of Art students who visited Diamond Harbour yesterday, fell ovor some rocks within a few minutes of her arrival at the bay, and suffered a cut scalp and siight concussion. She was attended by Dr. B. H. Gilmour and later conveyed to lier home. Picnics. Students from the Christchurch Training College, numbering 220, held thtir annual picnic at Diamond Harbour yesterday. Ninety-three pupils from the School of Art also visited Diamond Harbour. Many of the excursionists later inspected tho new ferry steamer Kaugatira. School Pair. The pupils of the Lyttelton. District High School will give a display of folk dancing and drill in. the grounds of the school this afternoon. At the same time a sale of cakes, produce, flowers, etc., will bo held in aid of the Christmas tree and prize fund.

Lyttelton Bowling Club. The following rinks will take part in a friendly match against Sumner on the Lyttelton green to-morrow: —W. S. Davies, Milligan, 1?. Fenton, G. Halliday (skip); W. D. Gowcr, K. Y. Clow, C. Blair, T. A. Mahar (skip); E. Muxlow, S. Perry, J. Hudson, J. McCormick (skip). Tennis Match. Yesterday afternoon a party from the North Linwood Tennis Club played a friendly match with the Trinity Tennis Club at Lyttelton, the homo team winning by eight games. The visitors were:—Mesdames Smart, Heniy, Dunn, and Misses .7'amieson, Foley, and Keigltley, the home club being represented 'by Mesdames H. Ryder', S. Edgar, 11. Herdman, J. Sowdep, W. Taylor, and Miss T. Lester. Christmas Fair. An attractive assortment of useful and fancy goods was on sale yesterday afternoon and evening at St. Saviour's Christinas fair._ The fair drew a large attendance, which kept the stallholders busy disposing of "their wares. The fair will be open again this afternoon and evening.
