Leeds; a wealthy yoirng sportsman and yachtsman, haß enrolled as mooring master in the submarine Nautilus for this coming Wilkins expedition. However, he must have a medical examination to determine his physical fitpess. For a long time, he haß suffered from chronic bronchitis, and therefore it is feared that this might make him unable to withstand the confinement entailed in the submarine voyage.. Leeds will join the vessel on its approaching trials. Then, if decided, that he is able to proceed to the Arctic, he plans' to join the expedition at Spitz- ■ bergen in July; Leeds - met Sir Hubert ;Wil]rius on: tlwGr&f Zeppelin's round-the-world trip. An Australian stated that Leeds had proved his ability as a ship's navigating officer, and would make a good, choice for thai .xopstim-- ■ portant- nost. He has a sincere desire to aid the scientific aims of the expedition!-
