(pazsa,. association telegbam.v : AUCKLAND, March 26. John Henry Maliood, a youth from Cambridge, who swindled an Auckland bookmaker of £49 by an ingenious trick, was fined £lO by Mr Pi K. Hunt, S.M., who convicted and discharged Mahcod on an additional charge; of attempting to defraud - the same bookmakor ol i£184.The total number .of 'bankruptcy cases in England • and Wales during 1929 was 5900 ; this was 321 fewer cases than in the previous year.
