CITIZENS' ASSOCIATION'S CANDIDATES, THE NEW MEN;' Amongst the candidates selected By the Citizens' Association on Wednesday' night for seats on the City Council, the Ly ttelton Harbour Board, and the North Canterbury Hospital Board, are some who have not had experience on local bodies, though they have shown keen interest in public affairs, and some who have servecTon public bodies, but not recently. Appended are some particulars of the new candidates. City Council Candidates. Mr Q-. T. Baker, North Linwood, has done much valuable work as a member of the School Committee and of the Burgesses' Association. Mr B. B. Dalley was for several years president of thef United Burgesses' Association. Mr 0. G. McKellar is a public accountant, who has a reputation as a sound financier. He is, and has been for the past two years, a member ot the Biccarton Borough Council. Mr J. K. Moloney is a solicitor, and is a member of the Management Committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union. Mr W. S. Mac Gibbon' is the principal of the firm of Messrs Mac Gibbon and Mason, public accountants, and possesses a wide experience of finance. Mr T. Milliken is a partner in the legal firm of Messrs Cavell and Milliken, but is, perhaps, better known as a Rugby footballer. He is closely identified with the activities of the High School Old Boys' Association and the Canterbury Rugby Union. Mr E. H. Marriner is organiser for the Canterbury Manufacturers' Asspciation and for the Winter Show. Ho is a keen'advocate of New Zealand industries.'" Mr Colin Mi in has made a close study of political economy, and is well versed in business management. He has, been prominently identified with the affairs of the High School Old Boys" Association. Mr W. B. Smith is a grain and produce' merchant, and many years ago was a member of the City Council. Harbour Board Candidates. Mr 0. H. Burson is principal of the firm of Henery Burson and Sons, and is a prominent member of the Canterbury Manufacturers' Association. Mr «T.'B. Hayward is the, principal of the firm of Hayward Brothers and Co., Ltd., and already has had expesience as a member of the Board. Hospital Board Candidates., Mrs W. S. Bean is a daughter of the Rt. Hon. B. J. Seddori, and takes much interest in institutions of a charitable nature. Mr K. M. Gressoa is a barrister and solicitor. Mr A. 0. Maxwell is headmaster of the Phillipstown School, and a member, of the Canterbury Patriotic Fund Committee.
