WOMEN'S ATTIRE CONDEMNED.
ARCHBISHOP'S ATTACK.. (USITED P&ES6 ASSOCIATION —EX ILICRte TILKCHtAPK—COPTBIOHT.) (Received November 19th, 8.15 p.m.) PARIS, November 19. The Archbishop of Rouen, who is the Roman Catholic Primat© of Normandy. is responsible for a vigorous condemnation of the masculine type of sports dress attire, which, he declares, creates a false conception of women's independence. "In trying deliberately to attract men by tawdry make-up and clinging clothes, revealing the tody to a shame- ' fa! degree of indecency, women are losing all attraction." he said. "Men will not look for wives and the mothers of their children from women of this type. Modern women are de- • feating their own ends by dressing indecently."
