EDUCATION REPORT.
MR ATMORE TO ADDRESS SCHOOL COMMITTEES. "The Education report i« at present before the country," said the Minister for Education (the Hon. H. Atmore) yesterday. He would not yet state his intention of introducing legislation to cover the text of tho report. "At present we are taking the opportunity of addressing groups of teachers, members of committees, and home and school associations on the report, ho said. "Mr Peter Fraser, Mr J. A. Young, and myself recently addressed a large gathering in Wellington, and W have also spoken to teachers at Waipawa, Waipukurau, Nelson, and Motueka. At each meeting great interest was shown and unanimous votes of appreciation given." Mr Atmoro said that he had accepted an invitation to give an address on the report to members of the Canterbury School Committees' Association at a. u«te yet to be arranged. "The whole thing is being put before the public, and as v,e cannot possibly supply copies" to all interested, we are taking every opportunity to explain the details. The members of the Education Committee are very gratified at the large measure of approval accorded to their proposals."
