POLO PONIES SOLD.
BIG PRICES FOR ASHTON BROTHERS* HORSES. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —BY ELICTHIC TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT.) (Beceivod August 31st, 8.55 p.m.) NEW YORK, August 30. At Westbury, Long Island, twentyfive polo ponies owned by the Asliton brothers, of Goulburn, New South Wales, were sold at auction on Saturday for a total of 77,600 dollars. The prices exceeded all expectations, due to lively bidding. Several were favourite mounts. Isobel, a bay mare, aged six years, brought 10,000 dollars from J. 6. Cooley. Winstone Guest, the American team back, purchased Coaster, a ten-year bay gelding, for 5100 dollars.
