Technical showed better form, and Snooks was called on to save Redcliffs' goal. Weak fielding let Redcliffs through, but Grafton cleared cleverly. CHRISTCHURCH 4, 'VARSITY i. Playing at St. Albans Park, Christchurch and 'Varsity played a drawn game. In the first Bpcll, which was very fast and even, 'Varsity soored one goal through the agency of Douds, and the first apeli ended with the soore: 'Varsity 1, Christchurch 0. The second spell opened at a fast pace, and Fulwood opened the score for Christchurch with a good shot. Shortly after Davis scored two goalß with bright solo efforts, putting Christchurch two goals ahead. 'Varsity retaliated hotly, and Thwaiteß reduced the handicap, and although the ball was hit outsido the circlo the referee allowed tho goal. Varsity kept up tho pressure, and Douds and Thwaltcs added two more goals. Christchurch, however, were not to be beaten, and a fine combined passing rush between Grahum, Andrews, and Mounsey enabled the last-named to score easily. Final scores: Christchurch J, 'Varsity 4. FIVE-A-SIDE TOURNEY.
The Canterbury Hockey Association's annual five-a-side tourney was held at South Hagley Park on Saturday afternoon. The primary schools' matches wero played previously, and only junior, third, fourth, and fifth grades were played on Saturday afternoon. SCHOOLS REPRESENTATIVE GAMES. The secondary schools' hockey teams of Otago and Canterbury met at Hagley Park on Saturday afternoon, when the Canterbuiy team won. Canterbury's goals wero ecorea by J. Coleman (4), T. Burtt (3) and Gosney (2); G. Angel scored one for Otago. ifte game was mostly in favour of Canterbury, who 6howed better combination and stick work. Final score: Canterbury 9, Otago 1. HATCH CUP GAME. In the primary schools' match for the Hatch Cup, the Canterbury, boys baa all the better of the game, and in the first spell held play In the visitors' end. The first spell ended, with the ecore, Canterbury o, scored by Burke (2), Wilson (2). and Stevens (1) The second spell was all in favour of Canterbury, who added two more goals, Burke and Willcocks scoring.
