CROSSING ACCIDENTS.
SEVENTY-SEVEN THIS YEAR. [THE PRESS Special Serrio#.] WELLINGTON, August 18. Seventy-seven railway level crossing accidents occurred in New Zealand during the first six months of this year Forty-six occurred in the North Island, and thirty-one in the South Island. This information was given" in a return presented to the House of Representatives to-day on the motion of Mr W. J.'Jordan (Lab., Manukau). The number of the fatal accidents was not asked for.
