♦ —— TWO FEATURE PICTURES. This week's programme st the Liberty Theatre includes two feature pictures, tho first of -which is "The Madoiina of Avenue A," starring Dolores Costello. It is the story of tho neglected and beautiful daughter of tho proprietress of a night club, who has been brought up in the seclusion of a. number of expensive schools. Her mothor's occupation has never been revealed to her and >be oannot understand why she ia denied the social life and contacts enjoyed by other girls. She is at the point of rebellion when she meets a good-looking young man, and, impressed by his sailor garb, naturally falls in love with him. Unaware that he is in reality a member of the crew of a rum-run-ner and that the officer's uniform is a fake she becomes entirely, devoted to him and there are complications. All ends well, as usual. The second feature id "Dark Streets, ■" featuring Jack IJulliall and Lila Lee. An Irish girl in Now York is loved by two brothers, one of whom is a policeman chiefly engaged in the warehouse district and the otbor a crook in one of the chief gangs of the samo area. Pat the policeman' can offer her only a bumble home and ordinary entertainment, while his brother Dan has eveiy luxury at his disposal. She cannot decide between the two until Pat is in danger of being killed as the result of a crusade by (he police against t/he gang following the "beating up" of a constable in their area. The bad brother turns out good in the end, and the girl marries her true love.
