RICHMOND BURGESSES.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Richmond Burgesses' Association was held m the Druids' Hall, Richmond, last evening, Mr J. Stewart presiding over a good attendance. Mr D G. Sullivan, M.P., wrote stating that the' proposal to erect a lew'post office at the corner of Stanmore and North Avon roads had been definitely turned down for the time being, owing to the financiall state of the country. It was reported, however, that arrangements had been made whereby posal notes could be obtained at the local P Clerls wrote stating that '.he Works Committee of the City Council was giving attention to the condition of MoLeod and Avalori streets and the placing of I jds on rubbish tins. Arrangements had also been made for the asphalting of footpaths in McLeod and Aval on streets as relief work for unemployed. . The secretary of the United Burgesses Association wrote stating that the Richmond Association's remit in connexion with the bettei lighting of streets had been discussed. Delegates were asked to furnish information as to the names of streets in their districts which were inadequately lighted at present. Ii» connexion with tht* Association s complaint as to the blocking of trams in Tweed street, the General Manager of the Tramway Board wrote stating that the attention ol all men on the route had been drawn to this mattei and blocking would be avoided in future. ... j- _ Attention was drawn to the bad condition of footpaths on River road from Medway street to Dallington bridge, and it was decided to write to the City Council asking for something to be done in the near future. Five new members were 'elected.
