MAGISTERIAL. WEDNESDAY. (Before Mr H. P. La wry, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. John Connor, aged 68, charged with being found drunk in a public place, this being his third offence within six monthß, was fined £2 and costs, in default seven days' imprisonment Charles Johnson, aged 55, was fined 10s and costs, in default 24 hours' imprisonment, on a charge of being found drunk in a public place, and on a charge of casting offensive matter in Manchester street waß fined 80s, in default 48 honrs' imprisonment. • LAND TAX OASES. Hairy Watts, being an owner failing to furnish a return of land to the Commissioner, was fined £2 and costs. Arthur Oscar Woods, for a similar offence, was fined £3 and costs. TRAFFIC CASES. Gilbert Norton, for riding upon a motorcycle at New Brighton upon which more than two persons were being carried, -vas fined £i and costs. Reginald Round, for driving a motor-car •t New Brighton at a speed dangerous to the public, was fined £2 and costs. John Dickson, for using a motor-cycle without having assigned numbers affixed, was fined 6s and costs. Charles E. Saunders, for riding a motor cycle in a manner dangerous to the public, was fined 10s and costs. KAIAPOI. (Before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M.) Frederick J. Bowring, on a charge of being in possession of wireless apparatus and not holding a license for same, was fined 5s and costs 10s. Sydney Pearce, charged with procuring liquor during the currency of a prohibition order, was fined £2, and costs 10s. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following cases:—o. A. Livingstone v. S. Psarce, £1 0s 3d: C. A. Livingstone v. W. Crane, 15s; W. L. Orchard v. W. L. Pitama, £2 12s 6d; F. Shaw v. T. Tainui, 6s 2d; G. Hirst v. J. Tregerthen, jun., £3 17s lid; H. A. Wyatt v. I. Te Aika, £11; G. Hirst v. J. Dutton, £2 16s lid. Judgment summons case:—ln the Christchurch Press Company v. A. Wilkie, claim £l2 4s 6d, debtor did not appear, and was ordered to pay the amount of the claim forthwith, in default twelve days' imprisonment.
