DISHONEST SOLICITOR.
J. B. BATCHELOR STRUCK OFF ROLL. (;U<l ASSOCtATIOK WELLINGTON, September 24. Only seven cases so far are set down for the Appeal Court session which began to-day, and one of those was disposed of this morning. The Beiieh, comprising Mr Justice Myers, Chief Justice, Mr Justice Herdman, Mr Justice Adams, Mr Justice Macgregor, and Mr Justice Ostler, made an order striking John Black Batchelor, solicitor, formerly practising in Christchurch, off the rolls. A _ Mr Free, for the l*ew Zealand Law Society, said that this was not a case where the discretion of the Court was needed. Batchelor was convicted on a plea of guilty of two of involving £1286, and was sentenced to two years' reformative detention. An order was accordingly made, with costs £ls 15s. .
