CONDITION OF WOUNDED PRISONER. [*H» mis ap^Ul AUCKLAND, September 82. A slight improvement in the condition of John Leslie Buckley, the prisoner who was shot while attempting to eseape from Mount Eden gaol on Friday afternoon, was reported by the hospital authorities this afternoon. Buckler, who was seriously injured by a shot, was admitted to hospital in a eritieal condition, and is still seriously ill, although slightly improved. Describing Buckley's escape, two little girls said they saw a man jump over a low stone wall. He ran about ten yards, the* threw up his hands and fell on his face. Then a warder with a rifle in his hand came running from A house at the comer of the g*oL He stopped when he got to the other man, who was moaning terribly. It was raining heavily at the time.
