AERO EXHIBITION
INTERNATIONAL DISPLAY. PRINCE OF WALES INTERESTED. (Received July 18th, 7.10 p.m.) RUGBY, July 17, The international character of the Aero Exhibition was very noticeable on its opening day yesterday, for representatives of nearly 40 nations inspects! the Exhibition which is intensely interesting both to experts and laymen. The Prince of Wales spent several hours there, climbing into the cockpits, examining the controls, and discussing the designs of both British and foreign machines on view. He discussed developments in flying with many pioneers who in the early days constructed and precariously flew their own craft, and showed a special interest in American, German, French, and Italian machines, and the remarkable display of British- light areopluncs, which promise to be the future motor-cycles of the air. Among these are single-seaters costing under £4OO, with a crui&ing speed of 80 miles an hour, the running costs of which are under one penny a mile. Their wings can be folded and the machines housed in an ordinary garage.
