YOUNG MAN AGAIN REMANDED. [THE PRESS Special Service.] AUCKLAND, July 18. John Tabor, principal of the business of Tabor and Co., formerly of the Dilworth Buildings, is wanted in Auckland by the police before they proceed with the charge of false pretences brought against Arthur Strange, a young man, who was associated with Tabor. Warrants were issued for the arrest of Tabor and Strange some time ago ou charges of false pretences. Strange was arrested at Thames on a charge of obtaining £l5O from Arthur Frederick Howe by falsely representing that he had a sound, well-established publishing company in Auckland, and that he was sole agent for certain publications, amongst which was the "1930 Catholic Beview," and that he had the authority of the head of the Catholic Church to have the same distributed in all churches in New Zealand. This morning Mr A. H. Johnstone appeared for Strange. Chief-Detective Hammond said Tabor, i whom he described as the ''principal in the business," had been arrested m Melbourne, but had been committed for trial on other charges to appear at ( j£ e Melbourne sessions on July 15th. '** e have not heard what happened, and we don't want to proceed with the charge against Strange until we get Ta ( b °j; I back here," said Mr Hammond. "Of i course, we could proceed without Tabor, j but I think it will be in the interests | of Strange if we wait for a while. Mr Johnstone reminded the Magisi trate (Mr Hunt") that his client had i now been remanded on a number ot j occasions. Previously the police said ! thev would proceed with the charge ! thvt day. H e was not anxious that ! Strange' should have to miss the next sessions of the Supreme Court and wait i another three months. Mr Hunt remanded Strange to appear again on Julv 2"th, when his case will ibe heard. Bail was allowed as before. ! __
