UNEMPLOYMENT.

GRIEVANCES, BUT NO DETAILS. Dr. H. T. J. Thacker, DeputyMayor, received a deputation of unemployed at his home yesterday morning. "They made assertions such as that there were privileged unemployed getting a bigger share of the relief work than others," he told a reporter afterwards. "They also said that some were receiving more continuous work, and that outsiders were coming in and were being placed immediately. I asked them for names and initials, so that I could have something definite to go on. If they gave us that we could put the men in the pillory. When they were taxed, however, tho unemployed admitted they bad not exact information. If these tilings are going on, they must be stopped, but we want exact details. Unwarranted charges must stop, too."
