NAVY IN PEACE.

MR HOOVER'S VIEWS. FAVOURS VISITS ABROAD. (UNITED PEESS ABSOCUTIOS—BY ILBCTBIO TELEGRAPH —COPYRIGHT.) (Received December 28th, 8.50 p.m.) .•> NEW YORK, December 28. Mr Herbert Hoover, President-Elect, is returning from Hampton Roads on the United States warship Utah. He stated that one of his major ambitions will be to build up closer relations between America and foreign countries by the use of navy ships, which are likely to be seen in foreign ports on friendly missions much more _ frequently during the Hoover Administration than before, since he believes that the Navy has a peace mission which is as important as its part in national defence. — Australian Press Association.
