DAILY MEMORANDA—Saturday, June 2. AUCTIONS. McCrostie Co,, Ltd., at their rooms, nt 12 noon—Property.

A magnificent crystal of topaz from Madagascar is one of the latest additions to the Natural History Museum in London. As an exhibition specimen this crystal far surpasses any topaz previously in the collection. It measures 12 to 11 by 10 centimetres and weighs just over 51b. The crystal is water-clear, with a pale blue tinge and of gem quality. The well-developed and brilliant crystal-faces are marked by complex and intricate pyramids and lines' of growth, and the specimen is an instructive example of a crystal in which the process of growth has been abruptly arrested.
