FIRE ON STEAMER.

SULPHUR CARGO ABLAZE. (united tebss association—bi ilbctbic tlleqbaph—copibioht.) MELBOURNE, May 15. The American steamer Stanley, with her cargo of sulphur afire, is in Darling Harbour with her hatches battened down. Steam was pumped into the hold all night. It is hoped to subdue the fire this morning. The vessel encountered terrific seas off the New Zealand coast, and two boats were lost.—Australian Press Association.
