Deaths from Exposure. Sydney, May 15. —The deaths of the three men, cabled yesterday, were apparently due to the cold weather. The victims were elderly, and belonging to the class.who sleep out.in the parks. One is still unidentified. —Australian Press Association. Ordered a Hogging. Adelaide, May 15. —In imposing a sentence of five years' gaol and ten strokes of the cat on a labourer convicted of a serious offence on an eight-year-old girl, Mr Justice Napier hoped that the sentence would be a warning to others inclined to act In a similar manner.—Australian Press Associatiou. H.M.A.S. Australia's Tests. London, May 14.—H.M.A.S. Australia has gone to Plymouth for torpedo and other trials. She returns to Portsmouth on May 28th for the commissioning of H.M.A.S. CanberraAustralian Press Association. Deaths in Motor Smash. Melbourne, May 15.—A motor-car containing four men crashed into an electric light standard on Parramatta road early this morning. Alfred Bishop and Joseph Scansborough were both killed outright, and others were injured. The car and standard were wrecked. —Australian Press Association.
