HEAVY RAINS.

VICTORIA AND N.S.W. BENEFIT. (Nt CABLE—PRES3 ASSOCIATION— COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Eeceived January 19th, 8.55 p.m.) SYDNEY, January 19. Heavy rain continues over the southwestern districts, and has relieved many critical drought situations. It is also responsible for a number of railway washouts. Bain is still falling in Victoria where, on the fringe of the Mallee country, floors are occurring. The bush fires in other districts have been extinguished by the downpour which the Weather Bureau classes as abnormally heavy.
