OMNIBUS AND CAR.
COLLISION ON BRIDGE. . That a heavily rjassenger loaded motor-omnibus should collide with a motor-car, and • then crash into the heavy stone and ironwork of a City bridge without anyone being injured is remarkable, yet this was the case about 2.15 p.m. yesterday. Proceeding . from the City along Armagh street, a Tramway Board.omnibus with practically a full complement of passengers . collided at the' corner of Oxford terrace with an Esses ear 'going north along • the terrace. The vehicles, interlocked, swung' to the north side of the Armagh street bridge and crashed into the side works. • One of the corner posts, a massive piece of stonework, was. completely demolished, and rolled on to the river bank with its "cap" lying some yards away. For about six yards the iron siding of the bridge was. shattered and hurled to the river bank.
Fortunately, both vehicles were stopped in time to prevent either following the side-works, but both were considerably damaged.
• On the impact, the passengers on the bus were hurled from their seats, but none was injured. The vehicles backed away from the damaged structure,.and literally limped their way back to their garages, the Essex badly crumpled and the bus with a damaged radiator and front axle.
