PROHIBITED IMMIGRANT.
(PKESS ASSOCIATION? TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, January 19. William O'Kcefe, aged 40, a fireman, who arrived by the Manuka on September 3rd, having stowed away and landed here, was charged to-day with unlawfully landing, being a prohibited immigrant. The Collector of Customs said that O'lveei'e was sentenced to three years' imprisonment in Bathurst gaol in July, 1024, and came within the scope of the Immigration Restriction Act. 'T came over here to better myself, not to lead a dishonest life," said O'Keefe from the box.
Mr F, C. Page, S.M.. ordered tiis deportation by the Marama to-morrow.
