The Tees was expected to arrive during the night from the Chatham Islands. She is to sail this afternoon on another trip to the Islands. The Canadian Prospector was unable to complete discharge yesterday, and is to sail today for Timaru and Dunedin. From the lastnamed Port she is due back at Wellington on January 26th to load for New York, Boston, and Halifax She will proceed from Wellington to papier and Auckland, and is to sai Jn. o, y from Au c k land on Februarv 3rd. Tho Shaw Savill, and Albion liner Athenic sailed yesterday for Wellington to complete loading for London. She is to sail from Wellington at 6 a.m. on January 27th for Southampton and London, via Panama Owing to Monday being a holiday in Wellington, the ferry steamer Wahine will not tak ° Cai ? o fr om Lyttelton to-morrow. The Kamona, after discharging cement from Portland, sailed last evening for Greymouth.

The Kotiti is expected to sail this after noon for Kaikoura.

The Holmdale is to load at Lyltelton about Tuesday next for Wellington and Wanganui. lhe Lata is to be dispatched this afternoon ™, ca IEO lor Bluff, Dunedin, and Timaru. The Gale sailed yesterday for Dunedin and limaru. She is due back on Tuesday, when ™ IS c° for Wellington and Wanganui. The Sussex is discharging carco from Calcutta and other Eastern ports here, and is to sail to-morrow for Timaru, Dunedin, Bluff, and J\ewcastle. The KBretu is due todav from Newcastle. She has a full cargo of coal for discharge, an jL nn completion will return to Newcastle. # The Kamo is an expected arrival this mining from the south. She loads for Wellington and Auckland. The Totara is timed to arrive at Lyttelton on Tuesday from Wellington, Tia Timaru. mv * tOT Wellington and New Plymouth. The Katoa is expected to-morrow from Westport, via Bluff and Oamaru. with a part cargo of coal for discharge. The Waikouaiti should arrive here in Wednesday from Newcastle and Svdncy, via Bluff

and Dunedin. She is to sail later for Timaru and Sydney. The Kahika is now expected from Dunedin and Timaru on Tuesday. She loads for Napier and Oisbornc. Tho Mahia, -which sailed from Port Chalmers on December 24th for London, via Punta Arenas, left Montevideo on Sunday morning for London. Mr J. B. Dymock has joined the Kamona as second officer, in place of Mr J. Sinclair. Mr S. E. Ross has taken the place of Mr J. McGill, sixth engineer of the Sussex. - Captain M. T. Holm has taken command of the Progress, in place of Captain H. Hay. The Union Company's intercolonial passenger steamer Manuka was to leave Melbourne yesterday for Milford Sound and Wellington. The vessel is due at Wellington on Tuesday, and will sail next Wednesday for Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff, and Melbourne. Cabled news has been received by the Canadian Government Asjency that the Canadian Pioneer arrived at. New York on January 13th from Auckland, en route to Boston and Halifax. The vessel left Auckland on December Cth.

The Tainui arrived at Wellington on Tuesday night from Southampton, and berthed on Wednesday morning to land passengers and commence discharge of Home cargo. She sailed from Southampton on December 9th, and experienced heavy -weather and violent rain, squalls until the latitude of the Azores was crossed. Christmas Day was spent the day before the Tainui reached Colon, and, as the greater number of children had never experienced a Christmas at sea, a successful party was arranged. During the voyage across the Pacific exceedingly hot weather was experienced, but rain Btormß -were met ■with near Pitcairn Island. ■ Cabled news has been received that the Herminius sailed from Antwerp on January 17th for Auckland, where she is due on February 25th. For many years the Her? minius. then the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's liner Waimana, was well known on tbe New Zealand coast, as she was employed in the trade between this country and England. Her last visit to New Zealand was in 1926, when she sailed from Wellington on April 20th for London, and soon afterwards was sold to the Aberdeen Line. During the Chinese' crisis the Herminius transported troops from England to China. She was built in 1911 for the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company, and -was capable of carrying a thousand passengers.
