MILITARY CAMPS.

THE SEASON COMMENCES. The Defence Department's annual military camps have now commenced for 1928, 53 officers and 131 men in non-commissioned ranks travelling to Burnham yesterday for a week's training. Major E. Eowllings is in command of these cadets, who are recruited from those attending night parades. The Southern Depot of the New Zealand Medical Corps will go into camp at the Addington Trotting Ground on Saturday, where a week's training will be undertaken. Marjor P. Borrie will be in charge. At the present time the men or the Southern Depot, New Zealand Signalling Corps, are attending nightly at the King Edward Barracks, and all day on Saturdays, and are undergoing a signalling course. They are under Lieutenant A. Lillburne. The Department is installing a 120-watt wireless set at the Barracks this week, to enable communication to be made with the Wellington and Auckland signalling depots, and thus facilitate training.
