BALL AT SPRINGFIELD.
What proved to be the moot successful and delightful ball of the year -was held in the Springfield Town Hall on Friday last by the benedicts •of the district. The hall was effectively decorated -with -va'ri-coloured streamers and balloons, and the supper room •with streamers and spring flowers. Great credit is due to the secretary, Mr H. (joumbs, and to Messrs 0. Denton and G. Atkinson, the masters of ceremonies, and the energetic committee. Over three hundred people danced to the excellent music provided by Mr H. McDonald's Orchestra (Rakaia). Older members of the benedicts wero delighted to welcome back as their guests Mr and Mrs T.
