REPORT DISCUSSED rN t COMMITTEE. delegate withdraws as PROTEST. [THE PREBB BpecUl Servtee.l AUCKLAND. March 4. The report of one of the managers of the New Zealand League football icam. Mr G. H. Ponder, was presented at a meeting of the New Zealand League Football Council this evening. After v>oin© discussiou it w;its decided to take the report in committee. Mr J. Carlaw (Auckland) presided. •Some opposition was shown iu tho proposal to tako the report in committee, and a motion was moved by Alc.s>rs E. fcitallwurthy (Auckland) and T. Tuohcy (Wellington) that tho report be taken in open meeting. Mr Ponder at once made emphatic objection. Ho refused lo read the report in open meeting and threatened to tear it up unless it were taken in committee. An amendment was then moved by Messrs R. Pollock (Tiinarui and 0. A. Sneddon (Auckland) that the report be taken in committee. Mr Tuohey at once intimated that if the amendment were carried ho would ieave the meeting, because lie felt that they owed a duty to the public. They kept the game going and should be acquainted with all the.facts. 'Hie amendment was put and carried, Mr Tuohey, thereupon withdrawing from the meeting. Mr Ponder's report is a voluminous document and its perusal was not completed until 10.30 p.m. It was then decided to defer discussion on the report until Tuesday evening. There are many controversial points to be dealt with, and it is possible that the second meeting may not produce finality.
