CHURCH MISSIONARY SOCIETY.

The committeo of the Church Missionary Society at its lut meeting decided to arrange for a quiet day of prayer for the upllftaent of the spiritual life. This quiet day took place In St. John's Church, Latimer square, yesterday, and proved most successful and helpful in every way, the attendances at each session being most gratifying. During tho day addresses were given by the Iter. W. A. Orange- and Miss V. Oplc. At tho close of the address the Rev. J. Y. Courier thanked the Itcv. W. A. Orange and Miss Ople for their willing help. He hoped that similar gatherings would be arranged under the auspices of tho C.M.S. at stated Intervals. Ho also announced that a cable had been received that day that Miss Woods, who a few months ago had returned to Chine, was safe at Shanghai.
