In the Supreme Court to-day, .Mr Justice Alpcrs sentenced John David MeKenzie, who pleaded s u ißy m the lower Court to setting firo to a threeroomed dwelling at iSeddon, to probation for three years, and ordered him to pav costs within fourteen days. George Powell" Gough, who pleaded guilty, to three charges of forgery and uttering cheques, was sentenced to six months' hard labour, and was ordered to be detained for reformative treatment for n period not exceeding two years.
