TOURS IN THE DOMINIONS. (rsoir oun own coebesfonotxt.) LONDON, December 28. The National Union of Students. 01 which Lord Cecil is president and Lord Balfour and Lord Grey are vice-presi-dents, is arranging a tour round the world for university and public school men to visit the Dominions. It is proposed that a party should leave England in April, accompanied by Colonel Fergusson, late King's Dragoon Guards ana a member of the King's Bodyguard, and should spend about six months on the tour, which would be carried out at the lowest possible cost, probably about £250. Any balance remaining, after paying fares and organisation expenses; will oe refunded to the men or to their parents. Mr L. S. Araery (Secretary for Dominions Affairs) has sent the following letter to Lord Cecil:-—"I have heard with much interest of the scheme which the National Union of Student" are hopeful of initiating to make it possible for a number of university and public sdhool men to make, in as economical a manner as possible, world tours, with the primary object of theii ascertaining at first hand the attractions and opportunities which Canada, Australia, and New Zealand hold out to them to settle in the Dominions. T have mentioned the mntter to the Prime Ministers of these Dominions, and I am sure that the overseas committees, which, I understand, are being formeo. for the purpose in each Dominion, will give a welcome to these visitors and help them to see what they can of the countries visited. "The suggestion that this tour shoulrt be carried ont on the basis that any margin, after the necessary charges for organisation, transport, and hotel expenses have been met. should be handed back to the members, and that any of them should be entitled, if he should decide to break off his journey m Cnmda. Australia, or New Zealand with a view to immediate settlement in the Dominion selected, to have returned to him a mworttonnte amount of his fare, should make the proposal attractive to thosfl desirous of studying the conditions of settlement in the different Dominions before finally armintr at a decision. These travellers will, too. have the inestimab'e benefit of receiving everv possible assistance in reaching a decision as to where and when to settle, both from the resnon«ible person attached by tn« National Fnion to the oarties travelling under their aeons pnd also from the committees in the Dominions visifed."
