CAR OVERTURNS.
FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT. (FBESB ABSOCUTIOS- TSXSOBAV.) INVEBCABGILL, February 14. While motoring to Colae on Sunday morning a car driven by Mrs Bruce Ireland became unmanageable in loose gravel and capsized. Miss Phyllis Fleming, aged twenty, was killed Instantly, her head being crushed by the back seat. Her father, Mr Herbert Fleming, a well-known flourmlller of Gore, was also severely crushed, all his ribs on one side being broken. His condition is serious. Mrs Ireland suffered from cuts and shock, but was able to proceed home. An inquest into the death'of Phyllis Fleming was opened at Biverton to-day before Mr Cruickshank, S.M. After hearing medical and police evidence the inquest adjourned to InvercargilL [Mr Herbert Fleming, who is a son of Mr Thomas Fleming, the founder of the well-known flour-milling firm in Southland, is a brother of Mrs John Bennie, of Christcburch. With her husband and daughter she left for'lnvercargill yesterday.]
