SEQUEL TO MOTOR ACCIDENT. ITHE PRESS Special Service.] AUCKLAND, February U. A sequel to a collision between a motor-waggon and a cyclist was heard in a claim for damages in the Supreme Court to-day. John Herbert Hobtlell, window-cleaner, of Tepupapa, alleged that a motor-driver in the service of K. and W. Hellaby, Ltd., butchers, of Auckland, had negligently driven a motor-waggon along Church street, Topa papa, on May l'.'th last. Plaintiff was riding his bicycle in the, same direction .-13 the lorry was proceeding, and he alleged he was run down. He contended that the motor-driver had failed to keep a proper look-out, and had failed to give warning of his approach. As a result of the accident he had sustained a fracture of the left leg running into the knee joint. The claim was made by Hobdcll against the driver's employers for £750 general damages and for £214 3s special damages on uccount of nine weeks' treatment in hospital, loss of wages, etc. After a retirement of an hour, the jury returned a verdict awarding Hobdell £">00 general damages and £213 ISs special damages. Judgment was entered accordingly.
