MISAPPROPRIATION.
STAFF-CAPTAIN PLEADS GUILTY. (PRESS ASSOCJATIOH TELEGBAU.) WHANGAREI, January 17. Arthur Klambley,' staff captain of the New Zealand forces, formerly of Whangarei, but now of Palmeraton North, pleaded "guilty to five chargee of misappropriation of departmental moneys totalling £BO 2s Ud, in the Magistrate's Court to-day. Detective de Norville read a statement from accused admitting all counts and ascribing the lapse to a nervous breakdown and general ill-health caused through overwork. He explained that accused had placed fictitious names on camp pay-rolls and also forage and grocery vouchers, the money being converted to his own use. Accused elected to be dealt with summarily. The Magistrate said he would take time to consider the matter.
