SHIPPING NOTES. The Cygnet sailed last evening for Kaikoura only. She is due back early to-mor-row morning, and is to sail in the evening for Kaikouro and Wellington. The Holmdalo is due this morning from Timaru, to complete loading for Wellington and Wanganui. The Storm, due this morning from Timaru, sails this afternoon With cargo for Wellington and Wanganui. The Opihi is expected this morning from Timaru to load for Nelson and New Plymouth. She sails via Wellington. The Kairanga, which is discharging Sydney cargo here, is also to load for that port, and sails on Thursday for Bluff to complete. The Breeae is timed to load at Lyttelton to-morrow for Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui.

Tho Moeraki is to sail from Dunedin tonight for Melbourne direct. Tho Katoa is due to-morrow from Wellington to discharge cement and cargo, and also transhipments from Melbourne, ex tho Mnheno.

The Waihora is expected to sail to-dny for DuhodHi to continue discharge of her Calcutta cargo.

The Sussex should get away to-day for Timaru and Dunedin to complote discharge of her Eastern cargo.

The Kurow is due at Lyttelton to-morrow from Auckland and Wellington, and is to sail in the evening for Dunedin. Mr R. B. Denniston was to rolievo Mr A. G. M. Christie as chief officer of the R.M.S. Tahiti on arrival at Wellington yesterday. Mr H. A. Brockett, -who has been on holidays, has rejoined tho Waipinta ns chief officer.

The R.M.S. Tahiti, from San Francisco, via Papeete and Rarotonga. arrived at Wellington at daybreak yesterday. She will leave to-night for Auckland to relieve R.M.M.S. Aorangi in the Vancouver service for one trip. The Tahiti leaves Auckland on January 21st for Suva. Honolulu, and Vancouver. The Maunganui. which arrived at Wellington yesterday from Sydney, leaves again on Tuesday for Sydney •to complete the Tahiti's vovage from San Francisco. Tho Shaw-Savill Company's steamer Matak&na left Wanganui last night for loading at New Plymouth, Picton, and Wellington. She is duo at Wellington on February 22nd, and is scheduled to sail from that port on February Ist for London, via Panama. Tho Federal Company's steamer Dovon left Wellington on Saturday morning for loading at Auckland, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Napier. She will sail finally from Napier on February 4th for America and Great Britain.

The Waiotapu left San Francisco on December 28th for Papeete, Auckland, Wellington, New Plymouth, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Melbourne. She is due at Auckland on January 25th. The Hauraki is now loading at Pacific Coast ports for Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney. She leaves San Francisco about January 23rd. The Waihemo left Newcastle on December 25th for Vancouver direct. She loads at Pacific Coast ports late in January and early in February for Apia, Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin, New Plymouth, and Wellington. She is due at Vancouvor on January 23rd. The Waitemata left Westport on January 12th for Vancouver direct. She loads at Pacific Coast ports during February for Auckland, Melbourne, and Sydney, and is due at Vancouver on February Bth. The Wairuna left Napier on January 12th for Melbourne and Sydney. DERELICT YACHT. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.) WELLINGTON, January 17. The derelict yacht sighted by the Corinth> off Cape Palliser is believed to be a naval cutter owned by R. Nicholson, of Wellington, who lost it off Cape Terawhiti on Wednesday last, when it dragged anchor while he was ashore. Nicholson states that the wireless description fits his boat in every detail.
