RIFLE SHOOTING.
CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. At the general meeting of the Canterbury Rifle Association Major J. P. Oakes occupied, tha chair, atid the following 1 delegates were present:—Deputy-President W. S. Wharton, Riflemen H. Reynolds, J. S. Cook, N. I>. Wilson, J. Chapman, P. Jack, L. Pimm, J. Kean, G. Start, H. Edwards end the secretary, R. H. Mill. The chairman gave a, detailed account of his trip to Auckland during the visit of the American Fleet, and also of the rifle match* Auckland Riflemen v. The Fleet. He also stated that while in the northern city he had arranged a match between the Auckland and Canterbury Rifle Associations) to take place on a date to be fixed after the eeason commences. It was decided on the motion of Mr P. Jack to place £5 towards the credit of a junior competition shield. The date for the annual prize meeting was fixed for Friday and Saturday, January Ist and 2nd, 1926. a . It was decided to cut down the prize money so that the prize list be baßod «w» 75 entries. It was also decided that the entry fee be reduced from £2 8s for six matches to £1 16s, Grand Aggregate 6s and Service Ma-tchN 3s; total, £2 Ss.
