Two lions escaped from a travelling circus at the Mitchell railway station, a nd attacked and badly mauled a ponv before the keeper appeared on tbe scene and courageously attacked them with an iron-bar and claw-ham-mer. After an exciting chase about the buildings he succeeded in forcing both "one back to their cage.
